Biography

Danae Greenfield is a pianist and keyboardist born and raised in Bellevue, Washington. As a mere 18 month-old, Danae’s tiny, untrained fingers tapped out sounds and patterns on a battery-operated, single octave toy keyboard given to her by her parents. Playing this color-coded keyboard in her home just outside of Seattle marked the start of her pursuit of music.  After graduating from Newport High School, Danae moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music on a full tuition scholarship. While in Boston, Danae had the honor of sharing the stage with jazz greats, including Chick Corea, Ambrose Akinmusire, Tia Fuller, and Jason Palmer. Danae graduated from Berklee Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Music Degree in both Performance and Professional Music. She is currently based in Queens, NY, where she aims to develop her sound as a pianist and performer of creative music. She released her debut EP "Shelter" in May 2019 with her acoustic jazz quartet. Furthermore, Danae composes and performs around the city with her fusion quintet and is working on her debut album with this group as we speak, to be released in 2026!

Since moving to New York, Danae has had the opportunity to play at venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Forest Hills Stadium, Brooklyn Steel, Good Morning America, The Ed Sullivan Theater, Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Baby’s All Right, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Bowery Electric. Danae is sponsored by Nord Keyboards and Earthquaker Devices. Danae has had the absolute privilege to work, tour, and/or perform with artists such as Clairo, Josh Groban, John Legend, Zara Larsson, Norah Jones, Khruangbin, Tiny Habits, Charli XCX, Ben Platt, Amber Navran, Louis Cato and the Late Show Band (on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert), John Carroll Kirby, Eddie Chacon, Holly Humberstone, and Raveena, among others.
